After School Club news
- We are now in our second term and the young people attending the clubs are enjoying the range of activities on offer.. We have four clubs offering running now covering a wide age range from 3-19 years, with a fifth club pending. The Teen Dance Club run by ‘icandance’ continues to grow in numbers and the young people attending this club are really enjoying themselves. The Cricket club has fourteen young people accessing it and they are gaining in confidence in not only playing cricket, but also accessing the Swiss Cottage Sports Centre. Greenhouse Sports activities started this term and they are inviting parents and carers to accompany their children and to join in the games. The aim of this is to support introduce our families to games and sporting activities that could be played at home.
- The charity SENSE have sponsored an up and coming new sport called Wallball (www.ukwallball.co.uk) which is an accessible sport that can be played anywhere, anytime, all you need is a wall and a ball. This is a simple hand ball game focusing on improving hand eye coordination and body awareness. Their coach will focus on supporting our young people aged 14-19 with sensory needs. They will be running lessons every Wednesday afternoon in the Sports hall, starting 22nd February and parents and carers are invited to observe and join in to learn this new sport.
