The ASD Support Group is a joint collaboration between the Autism Team and the Family and Inclusion Team. This is will be a regular coffee morning for parents to meet, share experiences and support each other. The meeting will take place on Friday 22nd March 2013 from 10 am until 11.30am.
In February we hosted the ASD Focus Group chaired by Bev Chambers. At this meeting we launched the Support Group as every Swiss Cottage parent who attended thought it would be useful. In the meantime parents have responded to the school letter by suggesting topics that they would like covered. So we would like to thank all those parents who replied.
Topics to be covered are: behaviour, bath time and hair cutting, sleep dealing with obsessions and growing up. We were very interested in the issues and concerns you have and we will endeavour to address these over the coming weeks.
As there are large numbers of children with autism at the school and we anticipate that the Support Group will be of interest to them, we need to have some ideas of numbers.
