Swiss Cottage pupils have been competing in the 2013 Balfour Beatty London Youth Games, one of Europe’s largest annual youth sporting events.
The games enjoyed a record-breaking numbers last year with over 100,000 young participants ages 7-18 from hundreds of schools and clubs in 33 London boroughs competing in 30 sports across 25 fantastic event days over the year.
Pupils did Swiss Cottage proud, winning a selection of medals in a variety of events.
Ryan competed in the physical disability shot-put and javelin winning gold medals in both. Nadim competed in the MLD shot put event winning gold after an amazing 8.5m throw. Jahziah competed in the 100m coming in third place and the 200m coming in second place. Jahziah, at the age of 13 was the youngest to compete with the average age of other competitors at 17. Jahziah has been selected to train with the The GB National Development Squad.
