From the 3rd-7th of June the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) led a Healthy Eating Week for all nurseries and schools throughout the UK.
The aim of the week was to promote healthy diets and being more active, as well as improve the understanding of where food comes from and cooking (food and meal planning).
Swiss Cottage had lots of fun with participating in Healthy Eating Week.
Pupils in lower school read “Lima’s Red Hot Chilli” by David Mills and explored new tastes. Pupils made fruit collages and used water play to understand good food hygiene when washing fruit and vegetables. The learners in Red Class created a play café and discussed all the yummy food they like and ate lots of healthy fruit during snack time.
Pupils in JK Rowling Class visited an allotment to monitor the progress of the vegetables being grown and then picked fresh rhubarb to cook a healthy rhubarb crumble in their life skills class.
Upper School focused on Healthy Eating during their weekly assembly.Tags: Healthy Eating
