Dear Parents, Carers, and Families,

We are writing to inform you that a staff member at our school has tested positive for COVID-19. We were informed yesterday evening and are working closely with the Camden and Islington Public Health department.

This staff member is not a teacher or teaching assistant working within a class ‘Bubble Zone’. This means there is a minimised risk of transmission to others across the school. We have tracked the staff and pupils that have come in contact over a prolonged period with this member of staff. We have already contacted them and are supporting them to get tested.

Our ‘Bubble Zones’ remain secure and Swiss Cottage School is still open.

We know that you may find this concerning and want to assure you that we are monitoring the situation. Please continue to monitor your child and family for symptoms.  The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

A summary of our safety measures is located on the school website here: September 2020 School safety measures

On Friday, we will write to all families with information on our planning if this were to happen for a staff member or pupil within a ‘Bubble Zone’ so that we can work together and be prepared. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact reception on 02076818080 or email

Yours sincerely,

Vijita Patel                Rebecca Shaw
