SCS Update 06/01/2022

Dear Families, 

Happy New Year! We planned this shorter week with learning activities that support pupils with the return to school routines, structures, and their classmates in the school environment. The excitement and energy has lifted the start of the Spring Term. 

Your child’s bag contains the Spring Term learning information:
- Spring Term Curriculum Map 
- Spring Term Targets (known as Personal Learning Intentions) 
- Spring Term Class overview (teacher, support staff team, classmates)

Evidence for Learning: We share the steps of progress in a two-week cycle to build the picture of progress for each of the targets. 
Week 2: 9th to 13th January: teachers complete baseline assessments for the new Spring Term targets
Week 4: 23rd to 27th January: ‘Evidence for Learning’ journal upload into the family portal.
Week 6: 6th to 10th February: ‘Evidence for Learning’ journal upload into the family portal.
13th to 17th February is half term break
Week 8: 27th February to 3rd March: ‘Evidence for Learning’ journal upload into the family portal.
Week 10: 13th to 17th March: ‘Evidence for Learning’ journal upload into the family portal.
Week 12: 27th 31st March: ‘Evidence for Learning’ journal upload into the family portal.
31st March 2023: Last day of Spring Term 

Family Workshops: It was excellent to have family members in school for the different workshops across the Autumn Term. The Spring Term Family Workshops is below alongside the school term dates. 

Communication: Class teachers continue to communicate with you about the school day through the home-school communication book. The weekly newsletter is shared by email, text, and is available on the school website. Teachers and the class team are preparing the day’s learning activities from 8:30-9:30 and teaching from 9:30-3:30. The class teacher is able to pick up phone call messages and emails from the school day at 3:45-4:00pm. If you email after school hours (4:30pm to 8:30am) it will be picked up by the class teacher at 3:45pm the next day.
