Dear Families,

The National Education Union has confirmed two additional teacher strike dates. These are 27th April and 2nd May 2023. The industrial strike action is related to national pay and not the school.

The majority of our teachers and a number of support staff are expected to strike. A number of staff will also have an impact from their own child's school closures. The school timetable will not take place on 27th April 2023. School dinners are still being made.

Families will receive a text on Monday 24th April to provide you with the update for your child.

The update will be one of the three following options:

a) Your child is able to come to school if they have:

- behaviour plan
- child protection plan
- allocated higher tier social worker
- complex medical profile requiring specialist support
-however, you can decide not to send them to school.

b) Your child should not come to school on 27th April 2023 because their teacher is expected to strike and they do not have:

- behaviour plan
- child protection plan
- allocated higher tier social worker
- complex medical profile requiring specialist support
however, if your feel your child is safer at school than at home please let us know.
- we will provide a £5 voucher if your child qualifies for Free School Meals and needs to stay at home.

c) Your child's class teacher has confirmed they are not striking, their class will also be open.

Please contact us on 02076818080 Tuesday 25th April from 1:30pm if you have any questions after you receive the update. Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,
Swiss Cottage School
