School Update on Cases from 19th December – 24th December

by swisscottage / December 24th, 2020 / in Uncategorized /

Dear Parents, Carers, and Families,

We hope this finds you well and safe. We have responded to 6 positive cases for the Swiss Cottage School community between 19th December and 24th December 2020. We have worked with the Camden & Islington Public Health Team and London Coronavirus Response Cell for each of these positive cases:

  • 3 staff members tested positive for COVID-19 in the Purple Bubble: all families and staff contacted from the class to confirm this context for continued monitoring during self-isolation
  • 1 pupil tested positive for COVID-19 in the Purple Bubble: families and staff in the class contacted to confirm the context for continued monitoring of symptoms during self-isolation
  • 2 Camden Transport team members tested positive for COVID-19: 9 families contacted to inform them of self-isolation up to 28th December and continued monitoring of symptoms.

We recommend that you continue to monitor your child for symptoms because of the current rise in cases across London.  The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

If they develop symptoms between 25th December – 3rd January, you need to inform 111. You can book a free test on this link:

London has moved into Tier 4 restrictions. The details on Tier 4 safety measures from the government are located here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home

We will contact you by text on 3rd January to fill out an electronic survey to help us plan a safe start to the Spring Term. 4th Janaury is a staff training day and the first day for pupils is scheduled to be 5th January 2021. We hope the rest of your holiday is safe and that each of you are well.

Yours Sincerely,

Vijita PatelRebecca Shaw
