Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted that the on-site pilot cohorts are working so well. We are up to 70 pupils and 70 staff in the school, and none of the children or staff have had any symptoms. The government released their guidelines for a full return to school in September 2020. We are really pleased and are starting our preparations to that we can build up our ‘bubbles’ model to promote the safest measures at the start of the new academic year.

The pilots have helped us with planning on changes to the classroom environments to promote meaningful teaching and learning. We have trialled the Recovery Curriculum and the classroom-based provision. The changes to the building with our one-way system and signage have also had a positive impact on keeping ‘bubbles’ safe and secure. We want to get the most out of the final 12 days of the school year to prepare for September.

We need to share this learning with the staff working in the Virtual School so that they can begin planning. Those teams will come to the school on rotation during these final weeks to understand the changes with the building and observe the new teaching approaches in order to prepare classroom environments for the September class groups. The teachers will inform you of any changes to the weekly timetable and we really appreciate your flexibility to help us get ready for September 2020. We really are looking forward to helping everybody return safely to the school at the start of the new academic year.

There is a wonderful atmosphere within the school. It is equally uplifting to hear about the ongoing engagement with the Virtual School and the use of Zoom by many families. Thank you for the ongoing support as we work together to get through this period, and have a good weekend.

Yours Sincerely,

Vijita, Rebecca, Monika, Lucy, Rima, Laura and Matthew

Senior Leadership Team
