Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope this finds you well as we enter the final weeks of the academic year. Our amazing Head of School Monika Gaweda joined Swiss Cottage School in 2007 and we are sad to see her go. Thank you for all of the messages you have sent through for her book to wish her well as she starts this new chapter.
Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
As you all know, I am leaving Swiss Cottage School on 21st July 2020. I would like to take this opportunity to write and thank all of you for your ongoing support and collaboration. It’s been an absolute privilege to be working amongst such a dynamic community and raising awareness of SEND locally, regionally and nationally. I am extremely thankful to all parents, carers and families for your dedication and commitment.
Swiss Cottage School is a genuinely unique place to work in and while here I have grown and developed, and I hope to have supported others to do so too. I will leave with great memories of students, parents, governors and staff but also with utmost confidence that the school will continue to grow from strength to strength, always keeping pupils at the heart of everything.
It’s been hard not to have been able to say my goodbyes in person, but I hope to come back and see everyone in the Autumn term. Have a safe and restful summer break.
As we wish Monika all the best with her future, we welcome a new Senior Leader to the school community. Mia Dodsworth will be joining us in January as a second Vice Principal. Mia is a highly experienced special school leader with specialisms in SEN and multi-sensory impairments. Mia was a member of the Challenge Partners team that completed our inspection in March, and this gives her excellent understanding of our school provision. Her passion for special educational needs and parent/carer partnership is a perfect fit to our school community.
I hope you are all well. I am writing to introduce myself to you as your new Vice Principal. I am delighted to be joining you all in January 2021, although I recognise this seems a long way off yet, I am looking forward to meeting you and your son/daughter.
The ethos of Swiss Cottage School to ensure each young person can access high quality education to maximise their potential and to be a valued member of the community is a core value I am passionate about. Collaboration and partnerships are at the heart of the school and I look forward to working with each of you to shape the next chapter of Swiss Cottage as a community. Stay safe and see you soon!
We really cannot believe that we are entering our final 7 school days of the academic year. We are finalising the preparations for the Graduation Event on Friday to celebrate the achievements of the 13 young people that are graduating from our Sixth Form.
You will receive your child’s ‘End of Year Report’ next week and the class teacher will share plans for their end of year celebrations on 21st July 2020. We are working with Local Authority Transport and Multi-Agency Support Teams to support their September planning for your children. The teams are also working hard with creative ideas for classroom environments to support a smooth and safe start in September for all pupils.
Wishing you have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
