pfeg is the UK’s leading financial education charity who’s vision is a society in which all children and young people have the skills, knowledge and confidence to manage their money well, now and in the future.
As a result of all our excellent work on financial education we have been awarded the pfeg Centre of Excellence status, “This award is reflection of our strong commitment to the lifelong economic wellbeing of our children and young people” say Tracy Edwards, Leader for Curriculum and Assessment. A pfeg Centre of Excellence is a school that has embraced financial education, embedding it within their school and disseminating it in the local community. This results in young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to make informed and independent financial decisions.
By becoming a ‘Centre of Excellence’, we are now making significant and recognised contributions to wider thinking around personal finance duration for children and young people with learning disabilities. We have developed an assessment tool for teaching personal finance, which has been supported by the Department for Education. We are also developing others to deliver quality personal finance education, through providing related initial teacher training and school-to-school support.
