Recent snow fall inspired Science lessons at our school, proving that every moment is a learning opportunity. Children and snowflakes are made for each other as a childs natural curiosity about snow creates the perfect gateway into scientific exploration. Learners collected cupfuls of snow from their outdoor spaces and investigated its texture and temperature and observed it changing from a solid into a liquid.
This sensory experience helped our learners understand how weather affects us by making it relevant and interesting for them.
Other classes wrote reflective stories about their snow experiences over the weekend and developed fantastic visual displays about the cold winter months.
