Dear Families,

Learning across the school this week has explored the curriculum themes through this fantastic sunshine and dry weather. Teams are preparing for our Sports Week activities which will focus on physical development, teamwork, health, and wellbeing. Our Sports Week will be during the last week of this half term. We look forward to sharing this with all families in the end of half term newsletter.

Tuesday, 14th May 2024 10am: Parent/Carer coffee morning will include a discussion on ideas for the end of year International Day that takes place in July.

Tuesday, 14th May 2024: Exciting expressive drama sessions are taking place for pupils with special needs. ‘Drama Sam’ who works with our school is holding these after school sessions at Francis Holland School (SW1). The next session is on 14th May 5:30-6:30pm with dates planned up to the end of the school year. Contact details are located in the flyer below.

Thursday, 16th May 2024: Camden Council are hosting the Preparation for Adulthood Event at the Greenwood Centre from 10:00-2:30pm. This is open to all families with children at Swiss Cottage School aged 13 to 19. Workshops and activites will be a great opportunity to meet key colleagues from adult services, and to connect with other parents/carers. The flyer below has additional information. We hope the event will support families thinking about the next stages into adulthood.

Sunday, 19th May 2024: Class teacher Sebastian secured a place for our school in the upcoming Run King's Cross Run. The course is wheelchair / pushchair accessible. No roads are crossed so there are pavement level changes to navigate. The Fun Run starts at Stable Street, the route runs along the side of Granary Square, then up on Bagley Walk which leads to Canal Walk and finally into Gasholders Park - using the ramp. On the return to Lewis Cubitt Square it goes along Canal Walk and then back on Bagley walk aligning to Coal Drops Yard.

Please let us know via admin@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk if you want to take part with your child so that we can send you the registration link. It creates your child’s registration number as a participant. The other schools taking part are All Souls Primary, Brecknock Primary, Christopher Hatton Primary, Eleanor Palmer Primary, Frank Barnes School, Kentish Town Primary, King’s Cross Academy, Rosary Primary, and Winton Primary.

Wishing all of our families a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,
Swiss Cottage School
