Swiss Cottage School Charity is a registered charity (Charity Number: 1115279).

Our Charity Aims

  • To fund specialist equipment and learning opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability at Swiss Cottage School
  • To raise awareness of Special Education Needs and Disability in the local, regional and national community
  • To develop partnerships which promote the social inclusion of pupils at Swiss Cottage School

At Swiss Cottage School, we are committed to providing the world-class provision our pupils deserve. As a state-funded school, our core budget from the Department for Education covers our most vital resource - our expert staff - alongside basic equipment. However, for a student population with such complex needs, "basic" is not enough. The specialist technology, sensory resources, and bespoke educational experiences that allow our pupils to thrive fall outside this core funding.

The demand for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) support is rising nationally, with 19% of all school-aged children defined and SEND. Base funding per pupil has not been increased for special schools since 2013, despite significant rising costs across the board. While we understand the pressures on national budgets, we refuse to let funding limitations compromise the quality of our provision. Many of our pupils face the double challenge of disability and socio-economic disadvantage. We believe that every child at Swiss Cottage School, regardless of their background, should have access to the most effective, research-informed resources and support available.

Our impact extends far beyond our own gates. As a Centre of Excellence, we work with a global consortium to promote the inclusion agenda internationally, training the next generation of inclusive leaders. When you support Swiss Cottage School, you aren’t just helping one classroom—you are driving a movement for inclusion that resonates locally, nationally, and internationally.
