Dear Families,
We are so proud of the engagement in learning across this week with the heatwave impacting London. Pupils have shown flexibility with adjustments to the classroom environments, learning areas, playground, and community learning activities. The heatwave continues into next week and we appreciate the steps you are taking to send your child into school with cooler clothing and hats.
National Gallery Exhibition: Swiss Cottage School is on the national exhibit for the 'Take One Picture' project at the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square.
The project views the painting 'The Courtyard of a House in Delft' by Pieter de Hooch through the eyes of children. This painting is part of the National Gallery collection. The exhibition is free at the National Gallery and open until 31st August 2025. This year's exhibition can be enjoyed as an artwork display and as a digital augmented reality trail in three locations: Jubilee Walk – Augmented Reality Experience; St James’s Market Pavilion; The Roden Centre for Creative Learning.
Unique Art Awards: We are also very excited to share that Swiss Cottage School is shortlisted again for the Unique Art Awards!
The artwork is a collaboration piece created by classes across Lower and Upper School. The artwork will be on display in reception in July for families to view. Congratulations to our pupils for showcasing such creative talents across the year!
Key Dates:
7th July - 11th July 2025: We will have a cross-curriculum focus through Sports Week and International Day on 9th July 2025. Teams are busy planning exciting series of activities, and detailed information will be shared. Families are invited to join International Day on 9th July 1-3pm. As well as celebrating the school’s diverse culture, this is an opportunity for families to celebrate with our Principal Vijita before she finishes at the end of the school year .
Friday, 11th July 2025: Your child's End of Year Report and information on their class for the next academic year will be sent home in their school bag.
14th - 18th July 2025: Families can join the optional End of Year Progress Meeting. The schedule and sign up sheet will be sent home and this is an optional meeting.
