Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we have enjoyed celebrating National Science Week. Pupils took part in a range of hands-on activities designed to encourage curiosity, exploration and early scientific thinking. Through sensory experiences and practical investigation, they enjoyed exploring ideas such as colour mixing, chemical reactions and cause and effect while having fun.

We’ve had 30 trainee teachers from The University College London’s Institute of Education (IOE) for the whole week - this is part of our national mission to encourage teachers to work in special schools and to learn from our practice. They have had a great time and some of them will return later in the year for their final placement.

Thanks to all of those families who completed the parent survey - those who visited classrooms for family learning week should have completed a paper survey, but for those who did not, here is an online survey for you to complete. We value your views on the school and these help us to plan further improvements.

Overleaf, you will find events offered by the Parent Carer Forum, which is a free, inclusive network of families in Camden with children with SEND. They have a vacancy for a new employee and are looking to hire a parent with lived SEND experience - have a look at the advert overleaf if of interest. It is a part time and flexible role.

Finally, see below for upcoming coffee mornings. Please do drop in if you are interested in learning more about these services or if you want support from the Family Inclusion Team.

Have a lovely weekend,

Syra Sowe
Principal
