Dear Families,

I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you.

This morning, we learned that our school has been shortlisted as a Top Ten finalist for the World’s Best School Prize for Community Collaboration. The World’s Best School Prizes are among the most prestigious awards in international education, with schools from more than 165 countries taking part each year.

This recognition shines a light on our incredible children and young people and on the community that surrounds them every day – starting with you, their families, and extending to our dedicated staff, NHS colleagues, local community and national partners. It is a recognition of what can be achieved when people come together around a shared commitment to helping children and young people thrive.

We hope that this recognition will help us build new partnerships, attract additional opportunities and resources, and shine a light on the value of inclusive education and the vital role that special schools play.

You can view a video of congratulatory messages from partners and supporters, together with endorsements from a number of well-known figures, using this link.

We also have some wonderful opportunities to come together and celebrate our community in the coming weeks.

International Day – Wednesday 1 July
Families are warmly invited to bring food to share with staff from 12.00pm–1.00pm and/or join pupils for activities in the playground from 1.30pm–2.50pm.

Community Day – Saturday 11 July
Please join us with your family and friends from 11.00am–2.00pm.

Further updates on the World’s Best School Prize will follow. In the meantime, thank you for the trust, support and partnership you show every day. This recognition belongs to our whole community.

With best wishes,
