Dear Families,
It has been a delight to see the children returning to school today.
We are looking forward to the term ahead and to meeting with each of you over the next 2 weeks with the class teacher (you should have received a letter and will receive a reminder text with your assigned slot – hopefully you can attend in person, but if not please ensure you have emailed admin@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk for a virtual slot).
Today, families will receive photos of the classroom on the Evidence for Learning app, and a pack will be sent home with your child that features;
Medium Term Planning (this shows the subjects and themes covered across the term)
Class Timetable (this shows how the day is organised, including specialist slots such as swimming, though you will receive an additional letter about swimming and trips before these begin)
Photo of the staff and children assigned to your child’s class
Personalised Learning Intention Maps (PLIMs) which are your child’s proposed termly targets (new pupils will receive this later this month once we have gotten to know the children and your aspirations better).
A draft Wellbeing Profile which is a shared document summarising their communication and behaviour profile and how best to support them (new pupils will receive this later in the month once we have gotten to know your children better).
If you need any help logging in or accessing Evidence for Learning (our online learning platform), and you were not able to attend the workshop today, please email: accountsupport@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk
Finally, some useful website links:
- Who’s who on the leadership team
- Term lunch menu (school lunch is free for Primary aged pupils and £3.04 for pupils over 11 years of age). To access the online payment system, called School Gateway, click here. If you need any support, please contact: finance@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk
Below you will find some useful inclusive local events and offers. This includes how to apply for one-to-one music lessons at school with the Camden Music Service (these sessions are in addition to the rich curriculum offer at Swiss Cottage, which is delivered by our music specialists alongside our external partners such as the Orchestra for the Age of Enlightenment).
You will also find information on the Special Parents’ Forum, a borough wide parent information and support service that is led by one of the Swiss Cottage School parents.
Wishing you all a restful weekend.
Yours Sincerely,
Syra Sowe
