‘Pathways to Inclusive Pedagogy’ began as a project to raise awareness of the need for more specialist training and support for teachers of children with special educational needs and disabilities across Europe.

The aim was to address a perceived lack of widespread expertise and training in this area – especially for those teachers at the very start of their careers.

The reality we engaged with is that all teachers need to work with learning differences in the classroom, and that all teachers need to take active responsibility for pupils with special educational needs. Our question was and still is – how effectively are they being supported to do this?
