We ensure formative assessment is actively used for reflective inquiry to inform approaches to teaching and learning. Every class team is trained on capturing video-based evidence of learning activities to analyse as a team through the 'Evidence for Learning' system. This sits within a weekly cycle of 'plan-do-assess-review' to promote meaningful and challenging learning that is tracked in line with the overarching goals of every pupils' Education, Health, and Care Plan.

Targets are known as Personal Learning Intentions in line with national best practice for pupils with complex special educational needs. The Personal Learning Intentions for every pupil at Swiss Cottage School are defined in the co-constructed Personal Learning Intention Map (PLIM) to promote coordinated learning across school, home, and external specialists. This cycle outlines our Assessment Cycle.
