Dear Families,
We hope this finds all families well and you are enjoying the brighter end to a rainy week. Your child’s bag contains their Class Timetable and the Autumn Term overview for the curriculum, known as the ‘Medium Term Plan’.
Pupils across this week have completed lesson activities to inform their baseline assessment for their learning target across each subject. At the end of the Autumn Term, all families will receive a progress report for the targets.
Evidence for Learning: We use Evidence for Learning to capture and evaluate the small steps of progress for each of the targets. It also celebrates key moments of success we want to celebrate with you. We have updated technology devices arriving to the school to support higher quality Evidence for Learning photos and videos. We are waiting on this delivery and are hopeful it arrives next week. Thank you for your patience as we transition all class teams to the new devices as it may cause some delays with your Evidence for Learning family portal uploads.
26th September 10am Coffee Morning – Makaton Training: The coffee morning on Tuesday, 26th September at 10am will include Makaton training. All parents/carers are invited to join the weekly coffee mornings. They are a great way to connect with other parents and share experiences. There is no registration for the coffee mornings, please arrive at reception for the 10am start.
27th September 10am Camden Connexions Transition Information Session: Camden Connexions advisor Anne-Marie is holding a Transition information session that is open to all Upper School families. If your child is in Year 10 or above you are welcome to join this session which explores the next stage of education after Swiss Cottage School. It will include information on local colleges, vocational learning, and supported internships as well. View the attached flyer for booking information. The session takes place at the school.
28th September 10am Wellbeing and Yoga: The first wellbeing and yoga session for parents takes place on Thursday, 28th September. All parents and carers are welcomed to attend. There is no registration for this, please arrive at reception for the 10am start.
Family Learning Week: Our Family Learning Week is an opportunity to join a lesson for 25-30 minutes to explore a topic or theme. This term’s Family Learning Week is moving to week of 6th November 2023 so that we can also hold some optional workshops for families with specialists. We will share the schedule for Family Learning Week in the half term newsletter so that you have time to confirm if you can attend the session in class or the workshop options.
Data Collection Sheet: The data collection sheets went home last week. Please ensure your child’s sheet is returned in the home-school book on Monday, 25th September with updated information or confirmation that the information remains the same. Thank you.
