Dear Families,

A pleasure to welcome pupils back after the half term break. The focus across all pathways is building on progress from the first half term through the curriculum themes.

Poppy Appeal: Remembrance Sunday is a national day to remember the service and sacrifice of all who have protected our way of life (https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/remembrance/about-remembrance) Next week we will have a curriculum focus on Remembrance in conjunction with the Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal. In the lead up to Remembrance Sunday, classes in all curriculum pathways will engage in learning around the theme of remembrance . They will be creating artwork throughout the week and on Friday afternoon we will have a cross class remembrance activity in our dance and drama studio.

Upper School classes are learning about charity fundraising through the Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal. They will be leading fundraising activities for staff across the school. Poppies and poppy appeal themed items available for any donation amount. They will be fundraising at the end of day pick up time with parents/carers who may be interested in supporting the Royal British Legion.

Family Learning Week: This takes place next week 6th - 8th November 2023. A member of the Senior Leadership Team will host each class session to also answer any questions and reflections. Families received the date / time of your child's FLW session at the end of half term within the home-school communication book. We are holding optional workshops for families to come together after the session in class. The workshop topics are Evidence for Learning Technology Support, Communicating with Makaton, Supporting our children to regulate themselves, Strategies to build positive relationships, and Art Workshop: Exploring play through clay.

Have an enjoyable weekend.

Sincerely,
