Dear Parents and Carers,

We have enjoyed a wonderful week of festivities, with Christmas jumper day, Christmas lunch, Art Room Winter Wonderland and our very own PE Winter Games Festival. One of the highlights was our whole school immersive storytelling project, Aladdin. Pupils contributed to the displays and resources, helping to transform the drama studio into an enchanting Arabian Nights setting and enjoying the interactive performances.

Next week the end of term newsletter will feature a summary of this joyous learning experience along with other teaching and learning highlights across the school.

A reminder that you should already have returned your slip for Progress Meetings early next term, so that we can finalise and confirm your time slots. Please call or email our admin team if you have not yet been able to send in a slip with your preferred time.

Next week, we hope that you will join us for a taster of our winter festivities with other families on Tuesday 16th December at 10.00 -11.00 am. There will be a slideshow of all pupils experiences this last week and a sample of live performances from some pupils.

Finally, families will have today received a letter home sharing the news that 2 of our pupils (from the same family) are confirmed to have measles. We know that this will be a concern for many of our families and we will be practicing enhanced hygiene and deep cleaning in school to mitigate any risk. Please ensure that if your child shows flu symptoms or has a rash, please keep them at home and let us know by phoning or emailing admin@swisscottage.sch.uk.

Wishing you well for the weekend,

Syra Sowe
Principal (Interim)
