Dear Families,

October is Black History Month and the school curriculum will include a focus on different activities across pathways. Classes will explore art, music, stories, people, and more. We will end this half term with activities bringing classes together to take part in sensory activities celebrating the topics.

Camden is sharing their 4th annual Black History Season to all families which promises to be the biggest and best programme yet – with events and activities ranging from art exhibitions, workshops, live music and history talks to poetry, supper clubs and much more. They will be shining a light on the borough’s most influential leaders, activists and changemakers, giving you the chance to learn and explore the past, present and future of Black culture. The full programme is located here: www.lovecamden.org/blackhistoryseason

19th October 2023: We want to celebrate the diversity of our incredible community every half term. Pupils are invited to come to school in the traditional heritage clothing to celebrate the beauty of our diverse community.

Update from the Finance Team: We have set up a new online payment system, called School Gateway, for families to pay for school dinners and uniform. For more information on how to register, please follow the link to the guide at the end of this newsletter. If you need any support, please contact: finance@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk

Seasonal COVID-19 Vaccine: You may be able to get a seasonal COVID-19 vaccine if you're at increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19. You can find more information on the NHS website: www.england.nhs.uk/london/our-work/covid-19-vaccination-programme-2/covid-19-vaccine-sites-in-london/

Wishing all of our families a fun weekend.

Yours Sincerely,
Swiss Cottage School
