SCS Newsletter 08/12/2023

Dear Families,

We have enjoyed the start of festive activities through the decoration of the school trees and Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children Charity.

Next week brings parents and carers a very interesting session with the NHS Occupational Therapy team. They will be supporting families with strategies for the holiday period. Please join from 10am on Tuesday, 12th December 2023.

We are thrilled to confirm one of the Festive Cards designed by a pupil has won a prize from Camden. This card was selected by the CEO of Camden Learning! The Festive Cards are all designed by our pupils- on sale now in reception and online. The EmployMEnt Pathway have also created a range of exciting pottery for sale at this festive time. Holiday Food Appeal: Thank you to families that have sent items in to support our Local Food Bank. Please send any final donations by Friday, 15th December 2023 so that we can then deliver it with the Sixth Form pupils during the last week of term. We are supporting the Camden Foodbank to bring longlife emergency food parcels to local families in food crisis. Please see the attached flyer and bring any donations to the school reception. Our Sixth Form will be involved in delivering the donation from the Swiss Cottage School community. You can make direct donations to the Foodbank through the addresses or internet shopping details on the flyer. Thank you for your support.

Parent/Carer Dance Sessions: ICanDance offer dance sessions that provide opportunites to connect with other parents/carers of disabled children and young people. The monthly sessions start on Thursday, 25th January 2024, 8 - 9pm at Fitzjohn’s Primary, NW3 6NP. More information can be found on the flyer at the bottom of this newsletter.

21st December 2023: Last day of the term, with the school day finishing at normal time. Local Authority transport are aware. Please email the school admin@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk if you are aware of planned absences for your child that week.
