Dear Families,

The first week of school has been a great success.  It has been a delight to see the children return, and they have enjoyed settling in, learning new routines, and building relationships with their peers and class teams.

We are looking forward to the term ahead and to meeting with each of you over the next 2 weeks with the class teacher in the Parent Meetings. You will have received your appointment times, but please do contact the office team on admin@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk if you have any questions or are unable to attend in person so that we can arrange a virtual option.

Today, families will receive photos of the classroom on the Evidence for Learning app, and an information pack will be sent home with your child that features:

Medium Term Planning (this shows the subjects and themes covered across the term)

Class Timetable (this shows how the day is organised, including specialist slots such as swimming, which you will receive a letter about before this begins)

Class Team Photo of the staff and children assigned to your child’s class

Personalised Learning Intention Maps (PLIMs) which are your child’s proposed termly targets (new pupils will receive their’s later this month once we have gotten to know the children and families’ aspirations better).

If you need any help logging in or accessing Evidence for Learning (our online learning platform where examples of learning in class are uploaded each fortnight), please email: accountsupport@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk

At present, there are TFL strikes due next week which will impact staff and families who travel to school on the tube and DLR. From Monday 8th to Thursday 11th September 2025, Tube services will be severely disrupted, with little to no service expected, and on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th September 2025, there will also be no service on the DLR. We hope that the strikes will be cancelled (we will monitor and update you accordingly), but in the meantime we are advising staff and families to plan alternative travel arrangements for that period.

We have a range of Parent Coffee Morning sessions available this term on Tuesday mornings from 10.00 – 11.30am and will be sending a detailed schedule next week of all sessions this term. In the meantime, please see information about this month’s planned sessions.

We look forward to working with you all and having a fantastic school year.

Yours Sincerely,
