Dear Parents and Carers,

The pupils have greatly enjoyed their first full week of school, having settled in well and engaging positively with the learning.

Senior leads and teachers have begun meeting all our families to share fruitful discussions about each child’s holistic development. We have had fantastic conversations and this will stand us in good stead for the year ahead. These meetings will continue over the next week, so please do try to attend.

Those who have already joined the parent meetings will have been introduced to, as well as contributed to, their child's new Wellbeing Profile. This is a one-page document about your child's profile and needs and how to best to communicate with and support them.

We have been working with the Evidence for Learning developer team to produce the template on the Evidence for Learning app. We will update you all when this is available to you as you may wish to use it in different settings (for example, sharing with new carers at home, or with medical professionals for visits to the hospital), to ensure that everyone understands how best to support your child.

Meanwhile, we have had professional visitors travel all the way from Hong Kong this week to visit and tour the school to learn about our curriculum and vision. They were bowled over by the school’s 'commitment to nurturing each student's growth with intention and expertise' and left with 'new ideas but also a renewed sense of purpose and connection.'

This last week, the tube strike has posed challenges for families and staff, and we want to applaud everyone for managing to get in to school (some staff have had well over a 2 hour commute each way to and from work). We want to thank everyone for their commitment and still managing to arrive with smiles on their faces.

Families will be invited in to school during the week of 3rd November for Family Learning Week - we will share your class slot at the end of this month. This is an opportunity to visit the class and engage in the learning with your child and their teacher.

Finally, staff are busy finalising risk assessments for all of our planned community visits and activities such as swimming. You will begin to receive consent forms next week, so look out for these to sign and return.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Yours Sincerely,

Syra Sowe
Principal (Interim)
