Dear Parents and Carers,
Today, your child’s Wellbeing Profile will be sent home. We are sending 2 copies so that you can update with your insights and any new information and send it back to school. This document summarises your child’s needs and how best to support them, and your expertise and experience is central to its success – thank you for your engagement.
Families who are new to Swiss this year will instead receive a meeting invitation, so that we can draft the Wellbeing Profile together and review how your child has settled in to school and agree their proposed targets for the remainder of this term. We will be sending invitations for these meetings shortly.
African Drumming Workshops – A Celebration of Rhythm and Culture: As part of our Black History Season celebrations, we were thrilled to host a full day of immersive African Drumming workshops on Wednesday. Led by a talented drummer, each session gave our pupils a chance to explore the vibrant rhythms of West Africa through hands-on musical experiences using their own Djembe drum. The workshops were energetic and engaging, offering students the opportunity to connect with African culture through rhythm, teamwork, and creativity. The joy and excitement was palpable as students learned traditional beats and played together in harmony.
Family Learning Week: Your class has a family learning session at the time below. Please come to school to spend the session in class, engaging with the activities on offer alongside your child.
Family Coffee Mornings: Tuesday 14th October, 10–11.00am - Visual and Symbol Support
Due to popular demand, we will be repeating the session from 23rd September where we will introduce families to the effective use of visuals to support their children. We will be co-creating visuals such as timetables and communication boards so that you can use them at home or in other spaces.
Finally, below you will see a list of dates for visit days for colleges. These visits are facilitated by our independent Connexions careers advisor Anne-Marie. We encourage families from year 9 onwards to explore options for future college placements. Please email anne-marie.robins2@camden.gov.uk if you have any queries or would like to confirm your place on any of the visits.
Yours Sincerely,
Syra Sowe
Principal (Interim)
